A player depicted with the Stargazing Hero Vanity Set.

Vanity is a wide arrangement of items which serve no other purpose than being purely cosmetic. In other words, equipping an item listed as a Vanity item (or putting armor in the Vanity slot, likewise accessories) will not grant any additional benefits to the player. In the context of the Stars Above mod, there is a total of 6 armor Vanity sets and an additional Vanity item that the player can equip. There are also items which can be equipped to the Starfarer, known as Starfarer Attire.

Starfarer Vanity

For more information, please visit this page.

Aside from armor that do not have any functions (i.e. Stargazing Hero's Armor), the Stars Above mod adds clothing items which dress the chosen Starfarer which are known as Starfarer Attire. Certain Starfarer Attire can benefit the chosen Starfarer as well as the player, though these require a large amount of items to craft. However, any Starfarer Attire that merely serve as Vanity do not require a precursor and can be easily crafted with 100 Stellar Remnant each.

Other Vanity

Excluding Starfarer Vanity, there are 5 armor Vanity sets, though the Toad Head, an extra Vanity item, does not include any other armor piece. As mentioned previously, armor listed as Vanity do not add any benefits to the player other than serving as a cosmetic item. This means the aforementioned armor Vanity sets may be worn in either the main armor slots or the Vanity slots (with the exception of Social Accessories) within the inventory menu, though this makes no difference.

Some Vanity armor sets, such as the Baseless Blade armor Vanity set, serve as a reference to other media outside of the Stars Above mod.
